Silver 2004 Z4 Roadster Auto 56k full history split rims

Sadly for sale is my Z4, due to a change in family commitments it has to go, hopefully to a good home, hence the advert on here to all you nice peeps I have been talking to for the last year, details are as follows:

2004 BMW Z4 finished in Titanium Silver with a Black hood, it has the best engine BMW make the 2.5L straight six, both powerful and bulletproof yet still giving great fuel economy, but I don’t need to tell you guys here that lol

It has covered just 56k Miles, with a full service history (including BMW receipts), it has just had its Inspection II and next one, which is an oil service, is not due for 13550 miles.

The spec includes:
* Full Black Leather interior with 3 setting HEATED SEATS (optional upgrade)
* 18" BMW Composite Split Rims wheels fitted from new (optional upgrade)
* Automatic gearbox with sport mode and triptronic function (optional upgrade)
* Cruise control (optional upgrade)
* 6CD multi changer (optional upgrade)
* Parrott Bluetooth and iPod connection, costing £300 including professional fitting
* Xenon headlights and front fog lights
* CD player and Harman speakers
* 3 BMW keys all present
* Sports suspension
* Climate control
* Power hood and full electrics (windows, doors and mirrors)
* Twin chrome exhausts
* ABS, Airbags
* Remote central locking with alarm and immobiliser

The car cost new £31,535 and in my opinion the best options and colour combinations.

It is Taxed and MOT'd till Aug2011, so with over 13k miles till a service it is ready to enjoy for all of spring and summer without spending a penny.(except on some petrol of course)

It's in fantastic condition for its age and mileage and is fully HPI clear. I have all the manuals, service book, MOTs and V5. Only small things to note are that a cpl of the wheels could do with a refurb, which is cheap to do and there is a small stone chip in the bonnnet, thats it, the rest is spotless and the hood has been treated well and looks great!

A change in circumstances forces the sale but I'm not in a desperate rush to sell, so can wait for the summer to sell it if need be. I need a bigger car so would be open to px/swap cash either way, if you have a 5 series or X5 or something similar. let me know you never know, just nothing high mileage though.

My local BMW dealer has offered me £8485 for it so that should be a good idea of the value and condition, offers around 9k from someone on here would be accepted.

Feel free to email me at [email protected] or on here (although dont get alot of time at the mo to log on) if you have any questions or are intrested, car is garaged in ASCOT area and viewings welcome for serious buyers.

Its only been driven around town for the last few months but it says its doing 29.6mpg, when I use the A roads and motorways it does around 39-40mpg, far better than the 3.0, which when I owned did 20-22 around town and 32-33 on motorways, gather thats why the 2.5 is more popular as the power difference between the 2.5 and 3.0 is hardly noticeable, I still cant tell any real difference since owning both, yet there is a big difference in fuel economy, if I buy another in the future (which I hope i will) I will have another 2.5 and give the 3.0 a miss, cheaper insurance too!

Cheers mate been busy with my house and work not really had much time for cars. Definitley want another Z4 again so keeping my eye open on here for anything I'd be stupid to turn down :)

I think, judging by other posts and my own experience that the 3.0L shows a lot of respect by how it's driven.

With the extra torque and 6th gear as standard on the 3.0L I've found it dead easy to average well over 40mpg on the motorway at normal speeds.

Did a trip of close to 70 miles in the summer to Beaulieu motor museum, taking it easy, and got as far as I can remember 48 MPG - there's a good thread on it here on the Forum.

Not sure too many will agree with you on the power difference between the 2.5 and 3.0L though :poke:

I agree the 3.0 does improve if you drive it carefully, but so would my 2.5 if I drove it alot slower as well,its all relevant, but I like to enjoy my car for what it was build for, without breaking the law of course or being too heavy footed.

Having worked with bmw for many years now, in my experience and opinion, it is that most of my clients prefer the balance the 2.5 offers, for both fuel and power, statsically it is near 15% more reliable as well. Most of my clients dont want to drive a Z4 like miss daisy to save fuel, it maybe more fuel efficent, but is not how most drivers want to drive such a sporty car. :driving:

Having given 100s of test drives in all types of Z4's, I cannot recall the last time someone noted any real difference between the performace of the 2.5 and 3.0 engines on normal driving roads and conditions, infact many opt for the 2.5 as they cannot tell much difference at the speeds they drive and they prefer better fuel economony for a hardly noticebale difference in power, I am sure no one will disagreethat the 2.5 returns a better mpg than the 3.0. But these are the views of clients and what they opt for in the end.

There is only around 39bhp difference between the two and this is mainly geared at top end speed and torque in the 3.0, this is reflected in less than a second difference in the 0-62 speed, although the 3.0 uses 18% more fuel to get there though at this performance, which in my view is huge. This extra power is helpful for the power at high driving speed, such as overtaking on the motorway, but not low down acceleration or local driving or if you use the M25! I think this is why most clients dont notice the difference as they test drive on non motorway roads and mainly country roads and locally, maybe I should encourage more motorway use on test drives.

The 3.0 runs at 4-5mpg on average more fuel than the 2.5 on comparable roads and conditions and is an insurance group higher. I think these are the main reason why the sales figures for the 2.5 and even the 2.2 out sold the 3.0 by quite a bit in the E85 model.

I'm not knocking the 3.0 as I love them (infact I love all Z4's) but these cars need to be enjoyed and owned to each owners needs, if you dont care about the extra fuel and extra insurance group and a slighly lower demand and residual and you like more torque for high speed driving, then the 3.0 is the best choice. If you want slightly better fuel economy, a lower insurance group, slightly better demand and residuals for resale and dont do alot of high speed driving on motorways etc, then the 2.5 is the better choice to save a little cash, having owned both I see it from both sides. It you want less power and even better fuel economy and lower insurance group then the 2.2 is the choice.

Whatever you do, if you want a quality 2 seater a Z4 is the way to go, in my view. :thumbsup: AND MINES FOR SALE TO A GOOD HOME

might be worth including a like to the pistonheads ad. I think people would want more pics, of the interior, etc.

Hi mate. I know someone who is looking for this sort of spec at the mo. He only has around 8k to play with but it's cash as he's just sold his car and he's ready to buy something new. Appreciate it's less than you have asked but if you get stuck let me know.

BMW offered you £8500? You need to be snatching there hand off like no tomorrow!!!

Most dealers want to pay a few grand less than that I would of thought

They have a similar one on their forecourt for £11450 but its grey, looking at their CAP guide, thats the main dealer value, thats a 3k mark up on what they offered me!!!! the trade value for that year/mileage on a manual standard SE is £7775, the auto box adds £500 to the value and then it has £3k of optional extras in the most popular colour combination, so their offer is fair for trade price but their mark up isnt, id rather sell it to a private buyer for £8750, a few quid over trade and let them save a few grand than the delaer make a few grand for doing nothing.

put it on ebay as well, so lots more pics there:

had a few pm's reference best price, 8750 is the lowest I can take as its winter but desperately need a 4 seater, cant say fairer than that, local independant dealers have them up for over 9750 with less spec, so its a bargain
