Sidelights... GRrrrrrrr!!

I annoyingly noticed my right-side indicator to be constantly illuminated and with a bit of reading and digging found it was to do with my sidelight being out. . .( I have a 2006 3.0si with HID's/Halo's by the way)
Many internet searches later and every man, cat and his dog telling me i need 501's to replace the bulb i took a trip to Halfords for a quick fix. Took the wheel off (in the dark) struggled to remove the bulb (in the rain AND the dark) and realised it wasn't a 501 and it's a 12V 10w.

Please tell me i'm not going daft. I have removed the right bulb haven't i? or have i done something stupid?

IIRC the indicator bulb is a 510, the sidelight (which has probably blown and the one you're replacing) is a T10? Why not remove the bulb and have a look, sidelight is relatively easy to remove - just make sure you seat the rear hatch properly afterwards, otherwise you'll get a misty headlight.....

Cheers for the reply but with my vehicle this isn't the case... As the thread here.. ''http://www.z4-forum.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=35810'' i seem to have the same bulbs as said by 'fatmikey''' I wonder why there is two different sets? Any ideas?

Cheers again
