Sidelight Failure

HELP!!!
Came home from work tonight and had the 'bulb out' indicator come up on the dash.
Checked when I got in and the nearside sidelight bulb was out.
Headed of to Halfrauds and picked up a couple of spare bulbs.
Got back in and fitted a new bulb...... still not working.
Checked all the sidelight bulbs using a multimeter and they all check out ok.
Checked fuses (although I assumed a fuse would take out both sides) and they were ok.
I'm suspecting the LCM (and praying it's not) but does anyone else have any ideas of other things to check.

Cheers,
Andy.

A bit of an update.
This seems even more odd!
No warning light on the dashboard this morning on the journey to work.
I haven't had chance to check whether the sidelight was on or not but I don't understand how I couldn't get it to work last night and the warning light was on, yet this morning the warning light was off. *Update* Sidelight still not working!

On the journey home there was no dashboard warning light then it came on part way home and went off again about 5 minutes later. Still no sidelight.

Can anyone explain this?
Just hoping someone will come along with some (any) advice really.

Andy

Quite surprised (and a little disappointed) that nobody has any ideas on this one.
Oh well - looks like I'm on my own then.

I'm surprised too.. not many people look at the Problems section I guess.. I found you with the "New Posts" link.

Anything intermittant doesn't sound good though with electrics, either suspect wiring or a failing LCM.

When I had a lighting issue, it started putting the indicator on to compensate, which then caused another fault.

If you use the ammeter on the side light socket, is it trying to power the bulb?

Perhaps from now on I'll post in the general section if that's the reason there's been no response.
Haven't checked voltages at the socket as I wasn't sure what effect it might have on the LCM not having experienced anything like it before.
Also it was dark and wet at the time so not the best!
Will check that out in daylight this weekend. I'm sort of hoping that something obvious will jump out at me when I look again.
I only get the indicator on (direction not dashboard) if I'm just on the side light position. As soon as I go to dipped lights the indicator goes off so hopefully ok with not causing any further problems.
Do you know where the LCM is situated and is it an easy thing to change?

Thanks for your reply.

I'm having the same prob with my passenger headlight

Whats the LCM and how expensive are we talking?

This car has cost me so much lately, I'm about to go on the game to pay for the bloody thing
