Side View Mirror

So I was driving home today and the driver side-view mirror fell off and shattered into a billion pieces. Just the glass mind you, not the entire assembly. So I call BMW and ask for a price quote on the repair and I'm told that for the glass alone it's going to cost $230 labor not included!!! I asked how much the whole assembly was and he aid $320, but that it doesn't include the glass which I have to purchase separately. He asked me whether I had tilt reverse mirrors or heated and I said neither. He said that there's only two types of mirrors, tilt or heated so since I don't have tilt he quoted me the heated.

Do all z4's have heated side-view mirrors? What other options do I have?
 
Heated mirrors is part of the Convenience package.

What year car and how many miles do you have on it? Under 4 years old and 50K miles it should be free. Unless there is proof of abuse.
 
2003 60k. :( Seems like the price they quoted me sounds about right according to RealOEM.com

Is there anything visual I can see to find out if I have heated side mirrors? Just wondering because I want to see if I can just use custom cut glass to replace it.
 
I can't quote you the convenience package on an 03. I would think that if you have electric seats, remote entry from your key, cruise control that the mirrors were heated. You can find out what you have using the vin #. There was a vin number look up that would tell you what you have. I will look around and see if I can find it, I think it was on the BMW site.
 
i don't have convenience package...

i have heated seats but also has heated windshield nozzles and mirrors. not a cold weather pack...
 
save some money buy it online (they sell just glass side mirror only $45) and buy some glue from them (GOOGLE IT)(takes 3 days shipping)or just go to a auto glass shop let them fix it.
STEALER = either $133+$100 labor or MORE!!!! BMW SIDE MIRROR GOT A CRAPPY GLUE

MINE FELL OFF WHEN I CLOSE MY DOOR BROKE INTO MILLION PIECES !!!
