hi there, i'm a newbie here and i have just purchased my first 05 BMW Z4 3.0i SE.

im looking to replace/repair the side skirts, one sideskirt has a pretty big scuff on it (Previous women driver  ) and im looking into getting it done.

Now would it be cheaper to have the skirt repaired and repainted or upgrade to an Aero side skirt or any others?
Obviously Repairing it will be much much cheaper than some side skirts, but im wondering how much the difference would be?
:D

Thanks for any help in advance! Joe.

Joe,
Cheaper to have the repair and repaint I would suggest. M Style quote £480 for supply, fit and paint:

BMW said when you buy aero skirts from them they only charge 50 quid a skirt to paint them. So 400 all in i think.

Hmmm decisions decisions...

But wouldn't the Aero kit look better? or even more to the point would it add value to the car?

i need to find a Quote for repair & spray.

Thanks joe.

Few mods ever add any real value.

And in my case, my insurance would just about double with aero side skirts.

no, it will probably lower the value of the car to be honest.

You'll never get your money's worth from modifying, you'll always lose money.

I had the same problem, was going to have them fitted to my new E85 (in 2004) by the dealer, but the insurance hike was not worth it

funny isn't it what can put an insurance quote up tinted windows on large 4x4s tend to put insurance policies up too...

It does seem to depend on the insurer.. mine is a specialised policy as the car is on a limited mileage policy as we use it only on high days and holidays...

As others have mentioned you deffo need to tell your insurer if you fit it and make sure they make a note on your policy.
