Side Skirt Plastic Clips

Hi all,

Whilst changing the front wing had to remove the sill slightly to get access to some bolts, and of course some plastic trims had snapped.

These are the ones I need, part 51717055847 but BMW wanted £5 a clip!



So I’ve ordered these which look similar, part 51718259025 and much more reasonable @ £5 for 10

Anyone have experience of these clips, or have I just wasted a fiver?

So to clarify these are the clips - they slide onto the sill which then get plugged into a hole in the body



You can see the sloping part extends further down on the new clips versus the original, so initially it wouldn't clip in.



However with a Stanley knife you can cut the new clip to a similar shape:



Tested and it seems to work - it's not totally tight but should be more than adequate especially when combining with the bottom clips.
