Side light LED flashing

Hi all,

Only had my Z4 (2006 3.0si) few days, just getting to know it. Today I noticed when I turned the lights on that the side lights were intermittently flashing. I've got Xenons and the main beams seem fine, as does full beam.

I'm not sure if the side lights have been replaced with some sort of aftermarket bulb though. Are the side lights usually traditional bulbs or an LED?

I have white light LEDs, which I suppose look nice but are flickering. I'm wondering if they are having issues due to being a different voltage etc than originally designed for a normal bulb?

Has anyone experienced this before?

Thanks in advance!

I have had LED's that start to flash and had to fit new ones, I was told that this is a sign of the LED breaking down

Ok, thanks Bobby. Thankfully these things aren't too expensive! Bit annoying after just buying it though, didn't notice it when inspecting the car.

If they are LEDs then I guess they are CANBUS compatible, which I've not found to be the most reliable, or load resistors. You'll have to get into to headlight to find out. I use OSRAM LEDs and have coded out the bulb check for the side lights, 2 years and still going stong.
