side indicator badge swapping?

Having just got some clear side indicator units, I'm about to detango the sides of my son's zed. But the BMW badges are in slightly better condition on the older orange units fitted to his car.
So can the badges be swapped over?
And if so, is it easy or is there a good chance of snapping something? Looking at them, there doesn't appear to be an obvious way, and it all feels very solid. I'm loathe to go down the brute force route - the last thing I want is one or more broken units, just from trying to avoid very slightly tarnished badges.
cheers

Use some fishing wire to cut through the adhesive behind the badges
Ah OK - so I take it the badges can indeed come off, but they're not meant to?

Think they are stuck on with double sided tape
After cutting though with the wire , clean off and apply some small squares of new double sided tape all the way round , think that what I did

They are the same dimensions as bonnet and boot badges and you can get cheaper replacements but you need to cut the lugs off the back of the new badges and then stick them on , which worked OK for me.
