"Side/daytime lights on right faulty"?

"Side/daytime lights on right faulty". Does this mean 'Needs new bulb', please, or is a greater expense involved?

This is going to be interesting because i just posted about new headlight bulbs 15mins before your post in the discussion thread.

Are your headlights working on the right?
If not, then it's new bulb time.

Just checked. Yes, right headlight working. So ... ? :)

I assume it’s an E89…

If it’s pre LCI then it’s most probably a H8 bulb ..if it’s post LCI then it’s a LED light module…

2010 35iS.

Most likely the H8 DRL/ Angel eye..like all remote diagnostics just a guess..

Basic bulb should be no more than £5.
OK if replacing with led might be £20 pair.
Were are you paying £40 for a basic bulb.

My indy said he could only source them from BMW and at 40 quid a pop.

I trust him and if they're less he'll tell me. :)

(p.s. I hate replacing bulbs, which is why the indy's doing it.)

The e89’s front side lights have to be one of the easiest bulbs ever to change.

Please tell me how.

The bulb cover is on top of the headlight, you can’t miss it, from memory you just give it a twist and lift off, and as said pull wires out of the way and twist and lift out bulb

Had already looked, but it's a mare's nest in there.

I'm confused. Are the Halo rings working?
They are the daytime running lights.
If the Halo is not working then it's easily replaced with H8 bulbs. You can get these at the auto parts store and they dont cost much.
Or H8 LED's. £50 for a pair. These create a white light rather than yellow.

It took me 5mins.

Here's a video of the process:

Perhaps post up a picture of your lights.
