"Side/Daytime lights on left Faulty!" and pictures.

Hello everyone,

Just finished giving the Zed a clean and when I started the car, I got the "Side/Daytime lights on left Faulty!" warning message. I hopped out of the car and noticed one of the angel eye rings had turned off. Since then, both have turned off and it no longer has any daytime running lights on the left side.

I have attached pictures of the error and the car below.

I have googled the error but have not come up with anything specific for the z4.

I have a coouple of questions and would be thankful to anyone who could help.

1) Is this error telling me there is an actual problem with the lighting unit - and will require an expensive removal and replacement? Or is this just a bulb change?
2) If this is a bulb change, are they fairly DIY?
3) I am under the approved used 1 year warrenty - is this something that should be taken to the dealer to sort?

They are called H8 bulbs.... I have some spares but i take it your down south..

Thanks for the help both. That's a relief. With regards to the bulbs - is it possible to buy one which emits a more blue / white light rather then the yellow. May as well replace both while I'm here if that's possible.

And on that note, any recommendations for brands of H8 bulbs would be great.

Brasseye - I'm down in Leatherhead quite a lot so could well pop down for a hello if I struggle with it.

You can buy Cree LED sidelight replacements..

They give a white light and look much better..... there are various different wattages. I have the 40w versions and they look superbright.

Ebay is your friend..

Yes well spotted but they seem just bright enough and they match the HID headlights,

Had the same warning light flash up 3 times recently but all lights function normally , dodgy connection somewhere ?
