Shutting down the radio

Hi

When I turn off my radio the lights and clock (in the radio LCD display) stay ON but I am 98% sure it used to completely goes off and the radio LCD goes off as well even when driving ????

I know I am missing something, I know I have payed with it before ??!!

I know I am missing something I already know and played with before ??!!

I'm sorry, can you rewrite that as I can't make any sense from it!

You're saying you don't want the radio to light up when it's off?

Audio stuff will be received well by many. As for a lit radio when off that will have to be someone with a non idrive car to answer...

Non iDrive user here. When the radio is off, pressing in the left hand dial used for volume, my radio stays lit up with the time showing. Have mever noticed it doing anything else, same in the wifes e90 3 series

This is what all of mine have done - seems to be standard BMW! (2 x E46, 1 x E87 & 2 X E86 - none with Sat-Nav).

turning it "off" by pushing the button actually just mutes it.
