Shropshire/Mid-North Wales meet

My car is for sale but if I've still got it on the 6th I might come along to this. I'll see if I can get the time off work tomorrow.

Unfortunately I'm not now able to attend this run  I now have to collect my wife from Manchester Airport very early that morning instead ! :x Maybe next time. Hope you all have a great day  Si

That's a shame Si, was looking forward to an early morning run over

Sounds like a good day out, if I can get the day off work I would like to join up you guys.
How many names have you got?

PM’d r2uzenblot phone details and I’ll be +1 as wifey will be accompanying me and no doubt providing a running commentary on my speed :?

Sent you my number via PM. My dad will be with me and, if I let him drive, I might be commenting on his speed :D

What's App group set up. Please let me know a mobile number if not yet provided. On the What's App group can you change your profile in settings so we know a 'real' name... Thanks and looking forward to a great day out. Please note that you don't have to be on the What's App group to join us but it would be helpful.

I used to organise the routes for Triumph motorcycles on their days out in the Shropshire/Mid-North Wales area (when they had regional clubs). Anyone fancy a day out in aforesaid area. I know the routes, good stops, scenic views etc and could plan a day with a coffee stop, lunch and perhaps a glimpse of the sea as well.

Thought a 9.00 start and maybe a weekday so we miss the weekend numpties.

Sounds a great trip.
Have a good one :driving:

The weather forecast looks fairly promising

Excellent, looking forward to the roof down, driving some cracking roads with other Z’s and great views. Just need to wash the car first….

It's looking good for Wednesday and just a reminder about the start. Postcode is WV16 4QN. Enter car park and go to back near wooden fences (directly in front of you). Do not get a car parking ticket as you get 15 minutes free and the chance of a traffic warden at that time of the morning is remote.

I'll be there from just after 8.30 and, as usual, my top will definitely be down........

Attached is a map of the car park...

Additional information

A route booklet will be available on the day and will contain the info below. I have print facilities so should be able to knock together something appropriate….. PDF version available hopefully Monday.

Stage 1 details
Final postcode is LD6 5HP
Nothing of note about this stage……

Stage 2 details
Final postcode is LL36 9EY
We will be going around the left side of Clywedog Reservoir and there is a car park where there is a great view of the reservoir and worth a stop here for a photo.
At the Talyllyn Railway Centre don’t forget to park behind the centre, turn left just past the railway and it’s a £1.

Stage 3 details
Final postcode is SY10 0NA and the café is on the left in the craft centre but for this leg we are not going the obvious sat nav route.
At Bala we will be taking a single track (but perfectly driveable) mountain road. What could possibly come the other way…….. If you don’t fancy the mountain road then go straight on when we fork right at the obvious mountainous road at Bala and take the easy way around.
The café has parking but in the unlikely event it is really busy there is roadside parking.

[ref]r2uzenblot[/ref], thanks for all the work you are putting into this. Looking forward to meeting you and everyone else on Wednesday. :) I've been on holiday for a week and got back on Friday so I've just caught up with the thread.

No need to book turn up on the day for the 'Shropshire and Beyond' day out. Or should it be 'It's a miracle..... it's not raining in Wales'

Gutted I’m still waiting for car to arrive as I would have liked this drive out.

Take lots of pics!

Thanks for organising this run out Richard, it was great to meet up with a fair mix of model owners, shame we didn't make the final destination but theres always another day.

Cheers.
