"Shrink-wrapped" bumper damage

Hey all,

I've got a bit of a problem with my 06 M-Roadster, i think a stone or something has put a hairline crack in that stuff that they cover the bumper in, as if it's been cling filmed or something.

Problem is, then i've used the jetwash on it and it's taken a lump out the size of a 50 pence piece which even worse, is kinda a matt colour and looks really pants.

I might try and get a pic later tonight...

It's in this week for it's Inspection I, so I'm wondering what costs I should be expecting & whether anyone else has had this problem.

Also gonna post in the brakes post, as I need new Pads now too =(

Thanks all =)

I'm not sure what it is, whether it's a spray-on type thing, or like a plasticky type of cling-film thing they add on.. i guess a picture will help..

Just had my front reprayed as I had a paint issue on the bumper as well. Should be warranty for you as well

Are you talking about the actual clear-coat? I know Jet wash can damage this quite easily if not careful.

Sounds like the clear coat if the paint looks matt underneath - it looks like a thin clingfilm layer. feather the edges and touch up with lacquer.

Assuming that jetwash means the same thing as power wash in our version of English, that's what we use to remove paint from large surfaces prior to refinishing them. I won't even store my power washer in the same garage as my cars. Can't think of a quicker way to destroy the finish on a car.

By jet wash, I assume he means a pressure washer (but more powerful and found in petrol/gas stations)
