Hello everyone,

I'm shortly going to be picking up a multi-function wheel that seems like it'll be almos as worn as my original on my car.

My plan is to then send off the new wheel to be recovered, but I'm not 100% sure what I want to go for.

Definitely want it to be less plain round like the normal one is.

I know some of you must have had your wheels recovered at some point, so show me what you got!

This steering wheel,is made from a guy who live in Galati (Romania<by the way ,I'm from Bucharest /Romania)
I sent to his workshop,my old steering wheel, without airbag and in 10 days,I received,final product.
He cost me ,with postal charge ,about 420 GBP.
I ask him this shape!

The guys from this workshop, are astonishing!

Nice. I was unsure about the stripe initially, but thought with black leather it would be understated enough.

The only thing I don't like about having alcantara on this wheel is it highlights the rubbery feeling of the bits around the controls a little more. The E46 style wheel below feels a bit nicer as the controls are inset.



Still, much prefer it to the standard leather though

I also have a Royals retrim on my MFSW. Went for a simple smooth leather top and bottom, perforated on the sides and plain black stitching, massive improvement over the standard wheel!

I like the silver spokes on the steering wheel, looks much nicer than then boring black I have. Are they standard?

Yep they are silver on the 'regular' multi-function steering wheel, and black on the 'M' wheel (if I am not mistaken).

I'm not sure about the thumb grips, it wasn't something I considered but may be worth an enquiry to see if Royals can do anything?

I think a coloured stitch could work to co-ordinate with the car colour or if you have a different interior trim, however as my car is Sterling grey with black interior I just left it as black stitching. I know the 'M' colours are quite popular, but personally as my car is not an 'M' I don't think it would go. But obviously it's all down to personal taste!

I have a regular sport steering wheel re-covered in alcantara with M stitching and high-gloss black spokes





I recently picked up a much chunkier Z4M wheel and I’m in the process of getting the same finish done to that...
