What are you doing to keep yourself sane at home during these unprecedented times?

Share a picture of what you're up to. Cooking, cleaning, decorating, knitting, dancing, drinking, driving, building, sleeping, gardening, pressure washing etc. It's ALL fair game!

Had my kids doing YouTube yoga tonight to give me a few minutes peace!

Been out on the bike in the sun today but apart from that I conducted a test I've been meaning to do for ages, which was to compare how different Sony Metal cassettes from the 80's and 90's sound.
Geeky? Definitely. Pointless? Absolutely. A waste of time? Indefatigably. But I suspect it may get more and more difficult to fill in those hours of social isolation. Hey ho.

Chris, you have a Dragon!

Wow. Love it.

I have a Nakamich 300E that will be up for sale soon.

Always wanted a Dragon but failing hearing means a clear out is the order of the day.

Pride & joy fella. Sounds pretty good too!

Sorry to hear your hearing's on the way out (no pun intended!). Mine will be going soon I think. I'm down to 11.5kHz these days :|
Could be interested in ur 300E as I collect Naks. Also have 2x 125e's, and an RX202...which isn't playing ball atm sadly. Needs a new cam control motor. grr

PM me re ur deck if you get around to selling it.

LOL.
I have 10 cassette decks, all working bar one (actually my favourite Aiwa ADF 850 needing belts)!

All will be sold except the 3 head Technics I have as I can't bothered to remove from its rack.

Just sold my Nak 100E to my neighbour. Not sure what the 300E is worth so I'll do some research (or just make me an offer  ).

Sadly, also sold all my Audiolab and Exposure kit (bar some monoblocks I still have), all because I'm virtually deaf in the left ear :(

Doesn't help that I have been a serial hoarder for years!

So my quarantine will be testing everything and selling on.

However tomorrow, I'll fire up my SNES and see if a 54 year old can roll back the years

Lovely! I always wanted a Rickenbacker bass

Get one and pop round

Tim.

Heh. I was lucky enough to own a beautiful Thunderbird a few years back but it was always second best. Back in the 90s my dream setup would've been the Rickenbacker bass and one of these bad boys after seeing Tom Morello playing one ...

I was attacking the front garden. The ground is awful because of all the rain we've had over the last few weeks. I also had a WaterRower delivered (yet to be assembled) and am chasing up a bit more gym equipment so potential home gym setup photo incoming in a few days I hope!

I do kind of get it. But if you're on this kind of stuff already I dread to think what you'll be up to in two motnths from now !

My Audiolab 8000A from the mid '80s is still in daily use. It needed one repair when about 2 years old and since then just keeps making me happy.

Nice old stack there Lar.

Amazing how a lot of electrical kit from the 80/90s just keeps on working. The stuff you get these day is lucky to work for five years. We still use our original Pioneer stack from back then pretty much every day :D

My other hobby is model airplanes with an tendency towards biplanes and warbirds. Who doesn't want to fly a Spitfire, right?
Since the Zed took up my old shop space in the garage. I am now converting some old horse space in the barn to a wood shop for the planes.
Once the shop is operational - the sky is the limit. LOL

Ta lar!
Well, tape devices aren’t exactly maintenance-free unfortunately. They still require a fair bit of maintenance and upkeep.
The Dragon was serviced in 2017 with all new rubber bits, re-capped and re-calibrated at a cost of €800 :o by the former owner so it should be good for at least another 10 years.

I have some other decks and walkmans which I’ll be servicing/repairing myself so that should keep me busy.
You got a tapedeck in ur Pioneer stack?

Going for a little distancing with a cycle down by the river today
