Hmm not a bad effort Carol, one of those things which looks easier than it is.

Never having seen a real pumpkin inside, it's just seeds and stuff which you hollow out, do you just throw this away?
 
It's full of stringy stuff and seeds, it's quite hollow inside anyway, the wall of this one was about and inch and a half thick. You just scrape the brains out!

Bing, it may be my sheltered upbringing (we are a similar age) but we used to hollow out swedes instead.

I don't think I had even seen a pumpkin 'til I was about 25 years old :o
