My old coupe

Looks great, any more specs on the wheels where they were from offsets etc cheers

Hi Jamie,

Were purchased from bmauto

http://www.bmautosport.co.uk/showroom/product_info.php/new-spoke-alloys-hyper-silver-with-deeper-concave-et45-rearrare-fitment-p-3608?cPath=51_27_134_46_298

Believe these were the wheels, as remember the 'rare offset' comment. Quality was spot on.

They looked great, but personally believe for driving, the car was better on the 18's. I noticed significanlty greater tramlining and twitch on the 19's, but damn they looked the part, the coupe is a head turner without the alloys, but with those fitted I glanced back more than once after parking it. I had the alignment done & new bushes etc all round but was never as planted as it was on the 18's.

I find myself in a tricky decision with my M now, love the CSL look, but knowing how much better the coupe was on 18's I'm nervous of jumping back into the 19's look & ruining the ride. Although to be fair the M is far softer on 18's than my wife's 2.5si is on the same tyres which tempts me more....many a time I've read 'larger for show, smaller for go'....not quoted the sizes as the quote has been the same on both my Z4 & S2000 over the years.

And seeing my photos, part of me wishes I'd gone for an MC, but then I also love having the roof down. Think I need to be like Taz & get both options :driving:

Thanks for the detailed reply, hmmm that's kind of put me off a bit now :(

The only thing I'm really bothered about is the loss of acceleration - did you notice any? I love how well it accelerates on the 18s

I'm not too bothered about tram lining as I rarely drive it, just want it to be as quick and handle the same in the bends :)

The ones you had were the ones I had on mine in the first post, the atomic ones really good reps :)

Can you notice the difference in acceleration?

Not noticed any difference when I went up to 19's other than slightly worse ride and wondering/tram lining more.

thats good to hear, not bothered about either of the latter really :)

Really like the 1 series wheel, never seen that on a zed before and it looks great, add a few spacers and it would loook amazing.

Do like a CSL style wheel too but they are not very unique.

Good Luck with your choice and keep us updated :)

Cheers hopz - it does drive really nice on the 1 series rims, I've come to work in it today to get a quote for the rust repair from Bmw after work & it's got a very twitchy nose now because the tyres are quite small & wheels are very light

You can fit 225 40 18 front and 255 35 18 rear tyres on those rims if that helps your decision,

Also you could fit Mich Pilot Supersports in 225 40 18 and 245 35 18 fitment too that should stop the twitch. You could also play with tyre pressures.

Are the 1 series rims running run flats?

What about the wheels from the 1 series?

Yeah, forget the csl's, those wheels done in shadow black would be the business

Haha you reckon mate?

Mrs won't be happy!

So get the CSL's for the wife's car, and swap when you want a change. Best of both worlds, win-win etc. ..

I've got a pair of pilot sport 3's in 225/40 i just don't like them THAT much to want to fit them haha. Kinda got my heart set on the 19" CSL's now

The 1 series rims are on non runflats 215/40 and 245/35 as soon as i got it i took the bridgestone shite off it & treated her to a set of Nexens

heres mine that aren't on InstaG
