Scene Setting!

Sunny day, Zed looked smoking from the weekend waxing! Two ladies walking my way, the roof is down as I approach the Zed... One looking, oh :D they both looking. I pull out the remote and hit the open button and go to open the door. My hand slips to the handle, I pull up to enter the zed and then .................................... :headbang: I fall into the door because the door would not budge! :thumbsdown: epic fail.. Two ladies now laughing not looking and one states"Twat"!

Now I am tempted to take BMW to court for damages against my dignity but common sense has kicked in and now I need you guys!

So a little forum search and I find an issue with doors not opening and re-setting key. So I did the 15 seconds trick, bosh a click a clack all is good and door is back in action. Thank god I could get ion from the passesnger side as even though I could reach to the drivers door and open it, the pin would pop up but would not open.

So now all is good and I go back to spending on mods. Again sunny day, roof is already down, I go to the car and the button fails to even attempt to pop the pins on either door. I finally get in via open, closing 20+ times, again neither door would open from the inside..

So I thought "SXXT" this is going to be expensive. I try the 15 seconds key programme and bang im back in business. Surley this cant keep happening, I have been on long and short journeys, there doesnt appear to be any battery problems... what could be wrong boys and gals?????????????????????

My Dignity cant take another fail such as above! :poke:

Fella, there was your chance to say any chance I can have a lift, my ride's playing up again?

Be cheeky, play up to their carcasm... ask for a numbe so she can have another giggle next week

Ask them if they'd ever seen a worse fail ...

I had exactly the same problem and the only solution was to get the battery replaced. I don't think BMW will do this for you, they are a sealed key, but the garage I bought my car from knew a man who could do it. If you have to go for the replacement key option from BMW you are talking between £100 -£150. I am sure somebody on here will know a man who can.

On a different note the key was opening the boot without an issue so could it still be the battery if the boot popped every time?

Not only did a damage my pride but i was more worried about the zed... it was so bad, it was almost naked gun style, so blatant, so stupid! so :headbang:
 
I had this once when cleaning my car with the key in the back pocked the button must have been kept depressed.

So left it on the electric toothbrush charger and still didnt work!

Did the key reset and worked perfect... Till i realised it made the spare stop working.. So had to do the same to that too!

So might be worth checking both your keys still work!

:rofl: at least you can come on here and joke about it, I'd be hiding in a corner and wouldn't tell a soul :lol:

lol should have used "comfort access" two clicks could have jumped in the window quickly :)
 
So no new story's :cry: but the bloody keys are driving me mad :headbang: Did a 500 mile round trip and swapped keys out to ensure a good charge.

They worked fine and now keys won't open anything, they are dead :headbang: I have done the 15 sec reset which worked everytime previously but now nothing. Not even the boot opens on both keys :headbang:

Every week a new issue!

Any tips or tricks or is this a stealer job :headbang: :thumbsdown:
