Hi guys,

just want to give a shout out for Peter Thorpe at Autotech performance. I went there today to get my car coded after work with his Autologic kit. He waited for me until i got there...i was a bit late, but he waited.. :D

I had called yesterday and i mentioned that i saw his name on some other forums. There and then he offered to do it all in for £25. I was a tad surprised as I rang the guys in hull who have the autologic machine and they wanted £75+vat just for the roof to be programmed via keyfob!!!!!!!!!!!

Once i got there he was extremely pleasant and mentioned good things about our forum and how he has had a few posters turn up for work needing to be done in their car such as servicing and key fob coding.

Anyway he has offered to kindly do any forum members an offer that cant be refused really. He will do whatever you want with regards to coding for £25...

I got central locking, close/open roof with keyfob (it is possible on 2003!), 3 second indicators etc....

He is based in Telford. http://www.autotechperformance.co.uk.

If this post treads on anyone's toes, i regret it being so...however at least people will be £50 better off!!!!!!

Regards
Don

telford's only around the corner (well.. not really.. but..) from me... and £25 that sounds ace.

Just to check.. it cost you £25 to get the roof to open/close from the fob, three-flash indicator and.. central locking (eh? thought this was standard lol).

Do you know what else you can get "programmed"?

Central locking is standard! :) However i wanted the car to lock after 10mph automatically, for the wifey really as she is very wary of reprobates!

After looking at the menu there was a fair bit. Auto fold mirrors if you have them, beep open/close, close/open roof, indicators, lights etc...

There was a fair bit, i just got the stuff i wanted to be done. Some of the stuff like selective door locking could have been useful, but it would probably have ended up irritating me!!

oic.. yes.. think that autolock thing's called antihijack. at least, it was when I had a TOAD alarm fitted yonks ago.

Right.. I think he'll be getting a call from me tomorrow :D

I want to give him a call. Just woner if anyone has entire list key codes so i can decide what i want before i get there. cheers.

Great to hear

the auto lock is 'drive away locking'

chetalien - trouble is it can be dependant on what is installed in the car to it differs...

I got coded (not by Peter):

Remote Roof from key fob
one touch passenger side window up

I had previously had added by a stealer (very apt name):

drive away locking
selective unlocking (one press opens driver door, second does passenger door)
lock after not opening the doors after unlock :?

stealer refused to do / didnt offer the roof option.

seems everyone who's been there is happy, im planning on getting the roof coding and cdv modded there as its only 15 miles from me, but moneys a bit tight, it will probably be january before i get it done.

How much will dealers charge for coding? I want to activate triple indicating signal.
my dealer wanted to charge £40 per option :o

I thought it would be a single charge for all changes made to Car and Key Memory. £40 per option???

Hi gannet what I meant was if there is a list of options that can be done by key activation then I can decide what i want if such a list of options exist. I was hoping one of the members here would have a full list of what options are available and then when i get to peter i can speak to him and see what i want. I can get the roof down as it is but certainly roof closing option would be great. I often leave the tp down and dont close it until i go to bed in summer sometimes, work palce secure park with security and home- no worries. If there are other things that can be done then I would be interested.

Regarding the roof open/close please be aware it can also be a pain in the backside. Sometimes the roof opens/closes halfway and stops.. :headbang:

Seems to be the same with others who have had it done. Another gripe is that when the doors lock "sometimes" the beep wont go off. FFS..

yep

seems to be best if you stand still from the front of the car... still not ideal.

Reinhold module would solve that though...

reinhold's £100+tho isn't it?

for about £15 (as I want other options), it's worth the shot imo, no?

Top bloke, did mine a few month's ago, had a problem with the roof opening gave him a call and he came out on the Sunday as I passing and gave it another go, reset all the software this time and I've had no problem's since

Interestingly on the new Z4 you can switch on and off various functions yourself in the iDrive! That's done the dealers out of a bit of cash!! :P
