Should Trump be impeached...?

Saw this today. Quite apt.
When you tear out a man's tongue, you are not proving him a liar, you're only telling the world that you fear what he might say.” ― George R.R. Martin

History also shows that there have been some very evil men who have been excellent orators.
It's the ones who say very little that you should be most careful of.

I know right, the guy is clearly a monster
And he's so un-American: in a country with more guns than people he's not bothered to cause any major armed conflicts or couldn't even be arsed to press the Nuke button. What a disgraceful President!

See this is the difference I think, whereas I can actually praise the good things hes done as well as condemn the bad those who suffer TDS can only focus on the bad and any good he has done isnt good at all its actually just bad described as good. :idunno:
I was raised to have principles so when someone is doing good I will congratulate them, when someone is doing bad I will condemn them, it doesnt matter if they are left/right/up or down. If the tories have a good idea I'll support it, if the SNP have a bad one I'll condemn it.

Its very similar to the whole statue issue, were lots of those men slave owners? Yes, that was the done thing then. Is that acceptable now? Thankfully no. Does that moral judgement completely negate any good they done in their lives? Personally I don't think so.

If a white supremacist is fighting for free speech I will stand with him but that doesn't stop me condemning him for being a mental racist, I will listen to him and try and argue the error of his beliefs.

He even has the effrontery to expect other countries to pay their way for NATO and not hide behind the US on the global stage. Outrageous! :headbang:

Wonder if any of the pro impeachment folk will have anything to say to Sen Rand Paul

He was elected because the American people were fed up of corrupt politicians and he wasn't a politician. Then they were surprised when he didn't do things in a politically correct way. Impeachment is a political ruse to prevent him standing for office again because they fear he may win again. I couldn't care less which side they vote for but people should be careful what they wish for. Suspect in a couple of years time and IMHO, when Biden steps down as planned and they get a couple of years of Kamala Harris's policies they may be begging for Trump to stand again.

Agreed
I think the impeachment is the swamp/establishment trying to solidify their control over politics again, I think that Trump's election was a shock and they didnt actually believe it would happen.

Voters may have reacted against career politicians in electing Trump but in so doing they replaced him with an even more corrupt and disasterous businessman. I don't think he will ever run again as he will be afraid of losing and in any case will be spending a good proportion of the next 4 years defending charges of rape, defamation, tax fraud etc.

He won't be convicted through the impeachment but I suspect one of his family will have a shot in 2024.

He may have garnered 74m votes but Biden got 80m and none of them will be rushing to vote for him in 2024. Millions of Trump voters will have been apalled by the events of the last 2 months and will never vote for Trump or his ilk again. I find it encouraging that he left office with the lowest approval rating of any president and that Biden's approval rating is already higher than Trumps ever was. Early days of course but indicative perhaps that the American people have had enough of that failed experiment.

Christ you’d hope someone better than any of these will emerge by next term.... :o

Obama wasn’t corrupt, far from it, but he was weak and didn’t do much considering two terms in office did he, good man though. What they need is an Obama with balls. Trump needs to stay out, he encourages division and controversy and not in a good way, America doesn’t need the pot stirring anymore, the good things he did came at too high a price, and he has no right to pull out of the Paris agreement, that was unforgivable. If Trump returning is the best they can come up with they’re in the soup.
