Should I purchase?

Without going into the nitty gritty I think that looks fairly similar to inspection 2. The major difference betting the replacement of diff oil rather than a top up. If it's due a service then may as well make it insp 2 though as I can imagine lack of insp 2 putting some buyers off.

I always budget at least £500 to put a car right after buying it. It's just the way of second hand cars, something's always bound to need doing.

Where are you located?

There are quite a few people who have retrofitted cruise who may be able to lend you a hand. It's only £120 for the parts.

FWIW OP I wouldn't pay the figure you have mentioned for that car, and an advert on Gumtree with a Halfords service wouldn't inspire confidence in terms of cherished ownership!

Just a thought, but how about this?

I saw that already but it doesn't have rear sensors. They are a must for me. And to get them fitted in would then take me the price I am paying right now.

That car is a decent price though I must admit.

Hi

I'm in west London
Local garage has quoted £250 for parts and labour for the cruise though. Don't know if that's worth it.

That's not near me but there are members that way if you're prepared to travel a bit to them. Then more like the cost of a few beers or free. I'd still say £250 was worth it frankly though. It's probably what it cost as an option new. The job takes around 1-2 hours.

I must say this forum and the people are amazing!!!

The alloy refurb would put me off - I'd hang on for a coupe that doesn't run on 108's

Hi,
What alloy should I be looking out for in your opinion?

I've got the 135s, they look good but you have to have small fingers to give it a really good clean.

I really like the 224s, I think they're more common on the 'M' though. I'm sure someone will be along to confirm if I'm right or not.

Most coupes you will view will have 135s (MV2s) or the 108s. Good luck with the search 👍🏻

224's are M only wheels :) I've got M wheels on mine.

I'd say the price is alright as they're increasing in price by the looks of it.

i'd pay 11k max tho, keeping in mind the alloy refurb and insp 2 for the peace of mind.

I'm in West London and would do the job cheaper. Not free though

I'm not going to speak of the value of this particular car but don't necessarily let a Halfords service put you off. There's not an awful lot involved on the BMW schedule (lots you can do yourself) and a BMW history isn't a guarantee that it's been well cared for.

:-D

Maybe we can come to some sort of deal if I get an non cruise version.

Also would need to get DAB and maybe change the speakers as they aren't that great.
Would you be able to sort all of that as well?

LewisB's post (5 up ) says it all really. It's down to personal choice, but the 108's are prone to degrade quicker than most alloys.
The MV2s (135s M-Sport alloys) will be on most coupes and look good, if you can find one running 224s that would be a bonus

My coupe has cruise control fitted from the factory but I've never used it!

I had it on a couple of previous cars and used it once or twice but cant see the point really!

Especially on a sporty car.

I cant live without cruise myself. Motorway driving and those 30/40mph roads with cameras!
On A roads however, thats where the sporty car shines

Just because it's sporty doesn't mean you can't benefit from cruise control. Try driving to the middle of France in a day without it and your foot will get tired of holding a speed.
