Should i paint my roof or black out the A-pillars???

Hey guys! so its been a while since ive been on last, I posted this over on the bimmer post and thought id ask you guys to get a different take,

im stuck in the middle and would like the members ideas on what would look best, im stuck with either painting the roof body color or maybe painting the A-pillars black, maybe even the mirror caps but that may be to much. what are your thoughts???

the new 09 and abouve Z4 has black A pillars and i think it looks pretty good but it has body colored roof, will it look to bubble top it i paint the pillars?

But seriously if the roof is already black imo i would do the A pillars and mirrors.

However you would also need to think how it would look with the roof down.

And btw i love it.. Looks awesome with the 326 wheels, aero skirts, and the contrasting black headlights with the M front bumper :thumbsup:

I'd paint the A pillars and eave the mirrors. i hate the whole black mirror fad. I'm old enough to remember when everyone was desperate to colour code their black mirrors so it seems odd to me that people are now going the other way.

Before doing it I'd do a quick photoshop to see how the black a pillars look with the soft top and roof down.
 
I actually like nearly all the options, none of them look bad.

My suggestion would be to have the pillars and mirrors wrapped in gloss black. Then you can have that look for a while to see if you like it, and if not reverse it.

PS what wheels are they?? 8)

their the 326M wheels found on the new E89 Z4.
 
you have a very clean car. what did you use to black out car parts ? carbon fiber vinyl wrap ?
i bet your car would look better with the facelift bumper with horizontal fog lights :)
 
I wouldn't go all black. When the roof is down/off it might look a bit odd?

Do you keep the hardtop on all the time?

Yeah, that's a very good point... I was judging by pics with the hardtop on...!
 
Al black looks good with the hardtop fitted. However as mentioned you need to consider roof down and roof up without the hardtop?

Why not do it in stages? Get the a pillars wrapped first?
 
My vote is silver below the glass line, black above inc mirrors looks very chique
 
Black cover looks great. Black or grey pillars are both good for me... but black cover is a definite yes!

Maybe you go for black mirrors as well!

thanks all for the feedback!

it’s a black roof that I picked up from a forum member and as you guessed these tops are hard to come by, so black was all I could find locally.

the A pillars and stuff I could vinyl wrap like a few suggested that’s a good idea, I’ll do that and see how it looks, at least its reversible.

been thinking of further mods and the V10 M5 engine swap is looking very nice !!!

just have to find a good deal on an engine and guts.
