Should I do anything to the roof before hardtop goes on?

Hello

I’m going to put the hardtop on the car this week and I was wondering if there is anything I should do to the roof before i fold it away and install the hardtop for the winter?

Thanks
Arthur

Good ask. I'm thinking of giving mine a clean and proof the first dry day. What I should do is get the motor repaired which has packed up in all this rain in spite of drain holes running freely but I will probably wait till. Spring.

Are you getting the motor relocated to the boot? The motor issue could have been caused by the drains getting blocked whilst a previous owner had it, once the case the motor sits within ships in water it can’t get out & slowly starts to rot the motor even if the drains are subsequently cleared :o

Think carefully about your choice of not being able to put the roof down on those crisp winter mornings and ask yourself if it's really what you want to do :)

Fair comment although it was Grant's{Phoenix boy} car before me. Iam in Kent, who is the closest person to me for relocation?

I think “Bowser134” is your closest bet.

Yes, Bowser is closest and then probably me. Send Bowser (Ross) a PM and he'll happily sort you out.

As well as cleaning the soft top and making sure it’s dry before you lower it, clean the rear hardtop seal and maybe condition it with Gummi pflege before you fit the hardtop
