Should I change 3.0si coupe for an m//coupe?

The 3.0SI is the sesible choce.

The 2.0 is slow and riddled with problems but entry to BMW open top motoring

The 2.5... might as well get the 3.0l because the MPG is about the same but performance is better, not night and day in price either.

The 3.0SI is the sensible choice in the whole Z4 range. Were not talking about any other cars. Sensible as sensible gets for a 2 seater sports car.

M is heart over head motoring but it is the best IMO. Not for MPG or running costs but they dont bother me, its everything else its difficult to some up the feeling on paper or by facts and figures its about the drive.

I agree Tom,if I had more money I would buy an //m coupe, but as I'm a trolley dolly I can't fit my suitcase & with wife& two kids the 3.0si is as good as I can get. Will make it the best I can though

Im not saying you should I think you made the right choice and your coupe looks awesome! maybe because it looks similar to mine :D

Was just summarising my thought on the E85/6 range

Thanks Tom,if mine looks like yours I'm on track

@kneddy
You do realise a lot of this is light banter. Although sticking to my thoughts on throwing big money on mods, on any car.

Absolutely all Z's a great especially yours.

Hey, I even like the roadsters :D

Not so much the 4pots. :poke:

Kneddy - your Coupe looks lovely and it sounds just right for you.

Regarding the M, I managed 31mpg in mine on the way down to Zedfest but it was using cruise control at c. 70mph the whole way!! I was that proud I even took a photo of the nav screen showing it!

Average MPG for me is about 23 but there is a fair bit of city-centre driving in that.

I only do approx 2.5k a year in my M but i have the following costs:

£1,000 comprehensive warranty, BMW assist and £0 excess
£600 insurance
£500 servicing and 'consumables' allowance (ie tyres, brake pads/discs). Bearing in mind that at my annual mileage i only need a service every two years.
£700 on petrol (based on about 110 gallons a year @ £6.40/gallon

oh and £'000's on bloody detailing products recommended by my fellow Forum members! :headbang:
