Should I buy some new wheels?

I have had the car for a few weeks now and am really enjoying it. Although I quite like the wheels that the car has come with I am considering a change. I like the CSL look and also the original equipment 326s. I had these on my first E89 way back in 2010.
What do you good folks think? Should I just keep these wheels and get rid of the runflat tyres?
Or should I look for some new 19inch wheels and what would you recommend?
Any advice/observations greatly appreciated.

Since you asked red twin turbo currently on 18s could be a totally different machine with new shoes on .
Not sure of the budget but if up to £1k for the wheels these Bola B11s would knock the car off the park imo :evil:

Thanks for the response Andy. I wondered if you would be able to resist. There are so many places selling alloys and so many wheels to choose from. From a layman’s perspective it is confusing to put it mildly. So your experience is really valued. Like all three wheels. Probably veering towards silver.

What makes you think that? Mind you ‘She who must be obeyed’ has already approved possible expenditure on new wheels.

There are almost too many to choose from. I quite like the 295s too, just wish they were available in 19 inch. In a way they remind me of the 108s I had on the E85. If I do decide on a change I ‘ll let you know. Thanks for the interest.

Funny you should say that - I've got 108s now. But I think 295s have a cleaner look without all those bolt-heads, which is why I'd be interested!

CM wheels have sold out of the Quantum according to their website. What do you think of these?

They look like 326s and very nice too. Not too keen to lower the car. Roads round here are pretty poor and too many speed bumps. Thanks for the suggestion.

Yes I'm running 326s. Was going to swap my tyres for non run flats because of how choppy the ride was, but once I lowered it, the ride became so much more composed that I won't be swapping the tyres anytime soon.

Yes always been a 359 fan & you know they work as SteveZ4 has them on his white 28i . 9j 10j , worth asking Steve what size rubber he's running as you will need a step up especially in widths

Just put some good non-runflats on your 295s. The ride quality of your 35iS will improve wonderfully.

Keep your 295s. They're beautiful wheels, they put some rubber between you and the road, and they don't crack.

Have you considered the style 230? Similar to the 295 but 19" (I believe they originally were available on the E92/E93 3 series - not sure if they will fit an E89 though).

Yes, I do like the look of the 295s and they are easy to clean. Having swapped from runflats on my E85 I agree the the transformation is really marked. It would be a lot cheaper to just change the tyres. The only thing that makes me hesitate is that the wheels look a bit small for the car imo.
