Should I Buy A Z4C?

i did say "bought wisely" :wink: by that i don't mean at the higher end of the scale then hammering 30k on in 3 years as plainly that will hit you in the wallet hard
As Paza proved recently a decent Mc can be had for around £12k , keep that mileage under 90k & that car will still be worth the £12k ( possibly more ? ) providing condition & maintenance are kept up .
The older the M cars become then higher mileage becomes acceptable on a used 10/12 yr old car , yes mega low miles will always fetch a premium i know that but leggy E46 M3s in top fettle still sell with 120k on the clock for good money , they don't become worthless or unwanted & there are far more of those available

of the forum.
I am absolutely blown away by the cars performance, condition, & provenance.
As you can seen there are a lot of informed chaps on the site with a wealth of knowledge, which I hope will help you make the right decision on what car to purchase.
If you are in a position to buy an M car, then my personal advice would be to buy it.
You will not regret it despite the costs

Stephen thanks for sharing your costs running the M so far. Although I don't need any more goading to get an M already
However, your calculations are based on doing 6k a year. I do 20k, at which point the servicing costs become more significant, as well as the mpg. Ignoring that for a minute, the £80 additional cost per month for running the //M even just doing 6k a year represents just shy of another £1000 a year. I'd imagine this would comfortably stretch to nearer £1,500 factoring in the extra mileage. I also cannot help but be a little concerned with the resale value of an M with say 90k; even with FBMWSH they don't tend to sell very quickly, or at a particularly good price...
I do see your point in some respects though and as I say, I will have an M in the not too distant future (unless I end up plumbing for a Cayman S... cue uproar at the potentially ruinous costs of engine replacement in those!), but right now I don't think its a viable choice!
I shall therefore continue to enjoy the Si

have you calculated what a high miles coupe Si will be worth if banging 20k a year on it?

Thanks again for all the insights - plenty of food for thought concerning mileage, daily use etc. I think I need to go and test drive an //M and an SE Coupe.
