Should I buy a 2009 85k E89 35i DCT?

Ugh, and again my 35is is heading to the mechanic.

So far this year.

replaced 3 injectors
replaced front shock absorber
replaced timing chain and tensioner
about to fix leaking dct gearbox
about to fix leaking coolant.

When it runs it's a great car but good grief I can't even get a month out of it without an issue.
Has anyone else had all of these issues or am I just very unlucky?

How much did the 3 injectors set you back installed? Did you get the latest revision 12 ones?

I wonder if the OP found his car. I just went through the same search, researching the history, comparing the performance and reliability. I found for me a 2010 E89 3.0i Natural Aspiration with a stick is exactly what the doctor ordered. It's space gray metallic so I can spend less time washing it and more time

Aside from the leaking coolant and timing chain issues those issues are typical.

That's the first time I've seen someone report timing chain issues on the N54 engine though and I frequent a lot of N54 specific boards :lol:
What exactly was the problem there?
