Should I Avoid

I have seen a car that fits the bill but I have to say my gut feeling is to avoid. It is only advertised on gumtree by a "private seller" who, after a google, buys and sells cars regularly.

I would have a fairly long drive to see it so don't want to waste my time/money.

I have done a quick text check which reports nothing unusual but obviously I would do a more thorough search if I was to buy.

What are your opinions? Avoid or give it a go?
 
Probably worth going to have a look at it if its not too far away from you but if its a long drive as you say then its always a gamble. Just remember there are plenty about and if you get that gut feeling that theres someting amiss then its usually right.

Just looking at the advert, it says it has every extra possible which is a lie. It doesnt mention xenons, it doesnt have M sport seats, it doesnt have Navigation. It says top alloys which is a lie as they are not 108's which were the most expensive option.

And if it does take 2mins for the roof to go up and down I would certainly walk away :rofl:

Very little detail in the advert usually means that the guy has little idea of what he is selling - so yes, avoid it there are plenty of other cars around. Just look at the adverts on here for some really nice, well looked after cars. And are you really proposing to drive from Ayr to Essex to look at that? :driving:

Thanks for the replies, I am moving to the in-laws for a few months so not driving from Ayr (that would be a long way but a fun drive back). I'm in no rush and ideally want a Cream Interior so will bide my time.
 
It doesn't have every extra, no sat nav and no multi-function steering, and no sports seats either if we are being picky.

Nice colour and wheel combo though.

It all depends what you want from a Z4 to what spec you actually want. Mine has very few options for a 3.0i but it has all the ones that are actually important to me :D

What is it with people who say fully loaded, every possible extra - bet there isn't a car in the UK with EVERY possible extra!!

It's another example of a car described as fully loaded, when it's not.

Rare colour, Tolledo Blue. Have a look and judge for yourself when you go see it. Worth a look? :thumbsup:
 
I don't see it as a really exciting example that I'd feel the need to see.
As others have said poor ad, not fully loaded at all.

I'd worry about buying from people who don't know their product, can't be bothered to correctly list, don't photograph the car well and trade from a portacabin. I just imagine the challenges of getting a problem fixed...
 
As some have mentioned, I also think go with your gut reaction and don't buy if you have any strong niggling feelings. There are other cars out there. Good luck.
 
Shocking advert. I can't believe people like that can make a living selling cars they clearly know sweet FA about. :roll:
 
Looks like they have bath mats instead of foot mats in there too...
