Anyone here fitted a shortshift?

I used to have one in my corrado..and wondring if anyone has fitted to the Z?

Also does the alpina already have a short shift from factory?

Seen a few for sale...none are listed for the alpina..?

I've never felt they needed one with the zhp geaknob. It's as short and precise as I'd ever want it anyway!

Get a zhp, makes a lot of difference. Also, the gearbox on the Alpina is a 6-speed ZF (linky), so you may find problems sourcing a short-shift kit for it.

I have to agree with you they benefit from a short shift kit. I fitted a Rouge engineering item and has transformed the shift quality as it eliminates all the rubbery/springy feel they normally have. Take my word its worth every penny and when fitted with weighted gear lever knob, stunning. BMW please take note, this is how it should leave the factory. :D
Oh by the way mines on a 6speed bought from CA technologists

I just fitted a new E60 shorter and weighted shift knob to mine which took a few seconds to install and improved the feel of the gear change no end. Got it from a BMW dealer online for £57. It's an M gear knob, not sure if it's the same as ZHP that people refer to.
