E89 Short shift kit

Anyone tried one...? The 35i I’ve just bought has a slick light clutch and box, very different to the E85 M, however IDEALLY I’d like a shorter throw as it’s perhaps a bit long. Never tried a short shifter so no idea if they work or not.

Anyone tried one on any car...?

just cut a few cm off the gearsrick, the same thing

I seem to recall that a weighted knob (ooer missus) will give a similar effect. The standard one seems fairly elongated and lightweight, a smaller one with a bit of weight might make enough of a difference and it's less drastic than using a hacksaw
