Shock/spring help

Posted a issue with BMW telling me spring front position is wrong...having looked today it kinda looks like one of my shocks is twisted. With front wheels straight bottom the grove that bottom of the shock plate can be seen along withthe end of the shock. Yet on the other shock it's facing the engine.



Just doesn't look right.

I think it is.
Remember that the coil springs are not handed, both coil the same way, so you won't see a mirror image.
 
Can you get a photo with the wheels turned, showing the position of the anti-roll bar drop link bracket? You shouldn't be able to install them wrong, as they have dowls that go into a slot on the hub.

I wonder if you've got two left or two right hand units, or something like that?
