shift lights using stock warm temp lights

i saw this and am going to ask ESS to activate it / add it on my car..... it seems this is already "coded" into the car and just needs turning on, at least on the e46 m3 anyhow..... wonder if its the same for the z4m?? wouldn't see any reason not.

Actually wouldn't mind mine doing this as well. At least there would be a reason for those lights staying on all time.

I would really prefer there were no lights at all once the car has warmed up. Can they be programmed off?. When I first test drove the car, thought there was something wrong. :?

will let you know once AJ (ess tuning) gets back to me..... i hate conversations with ESS, it always end up in costing lots of money. lol.
 
They seem to go backwards compared to normal shift lights. As Rialas says, I'd prefer there to be no lights then for them to light up progressively as the RPM increases.
