Hi Chaps and Chapesses,

Shift point indicator, should there be on on the DCT when its in manual mode?

BMW salesman (font of all knowledge) tells me yes.
If that is correct how do you turn it on because I dont get one on my motor!

Cheers

You scroll through the obc until a blank screen appears, then press & hold the end of the stalk inwards until the shift arrows appear 👍

Hi Rob.
Just been out to try this but no luck!
I put the keys in the car - pressed the button on the end of the indicator stick until a blank screen appeared.
Held the button on the end of the indicator stick in for at least 30 sec but nothing!

I then repeated with the engine running but no blank windows appear when scrolling through!

Strange!

Did you release the button when the blank screen appeared & then re-apply, holding the button in until the arrows appear-or did you hold the button in once the blank screen appeared without releasing and re applying?
I think that makes sense :?
Rob

i pressed till i got the lank screen, released and then held it in for around 30sec, no arrows appeared at any time

Are the shift indicators not just for manual cars?
BMW salesman assures me that with DCT in manual mode they are present if selected because in manual mode its a manual car....... albeit clutchless....

And what do you need 'em for, anyway? Can't you see the rev counter?
Don't need em, just like them, also helps me keep consumption down around Plymouth, loads of hills and the car knows best about its own economy under such circumstances. My 23i taught me that.

If you have a DCT just leave it in D Drive and it will return the best mpg that you can achieve all by itself

Forgive me, I'm confused. Your Z is manual, isn't it?
