She's turned six...

So the old girl has been kicking about on the various driveways I've had over the years... I thought it was time I treated her heart to a quick spruce up... She cleans up well for an old un.

If you get your car washed at one of those hand car wash places (the ones with 4-8 east european lads) they will clean up under the bonnet for an extra fiver.

Not a chance... Ever...

I've had it done a few times. The first time I asked how much to clean the engine bay they said £5 then I said okay.

What I thought would happen:
Lightly spray shampoo directly onto the cloths first and then wipe everything under the hood.
Gently rinse avoiding the electrics.
Dry up with microfibre or similar cloths
Wax protection and final wipe (this was more of a 'hope' really).

What actually happened:
Blasted their wash foam all over the engine bay, as if they were washing the exterior.
Blasted their pressure washer all over, including the electrics and the light-beam covers for 2-3 full minutes, as if it was riot-control.
Quickly wiped up with a dirty cotton rag.
They did however get into all the seams including the areas that are almost impossible to get dirt off of and the engine bay does look almost like new.

So far the car still works :P
