She's Here!!

Is that walnut the standard one i.e a free option or the extended one? Ive ordered coral red but having second thoughts now! What do you guys think? Ive gone for solid white paint.

Lovely car btw :D

Thanks for the nice comments everyone :D

Couldn't have picked a better weekend for it, I haven't had the roof up once!

One annoyance - BMW seemed to have coated the alloys in some liquid which has mixed with road dirt and brake dust and streaked all round them and made them look really dirty, it has also sprayed back onto the paint-work behind wheel arches making that look really dirty too! The plus-side is that it seems to wipe off really easy and underneath the alloy is clean as a whistle, maybe this is what it is designed to do?

The only real problem I've noticed so far (bearing in mind I haven't had chance to hear any roof rattle as it's always been down!) was a crackling noise from the front mid-speakers when playing at quite loud volumes, almost sounded like the driver was cracked or not sealed correctly. I tried to repeat it today but couldn't, so it might possibly have been interference on the bluetooth connection - had anyone else encountered this? (I went for the upgraded speakers, but not the top-of the range ones). I will be keeping an eye (or rather an ear) on it.

Still getting used to iDrive, its not the most intuitive system, lots of things are hidden in little sub-menus (pressing the options button) and what happens when you move the controller left/right doesn't always seem consistent which gets me lost sometimes. It also seems to require a lot of clicks and moves to swap whats on each side the split screen - I think I remember someone saying you can create shortcuts for this on the radio buttons?? Is there a good 'tips and tricks' guide out there?

It's just the standard one. I thought that without the extended leather option the dash and door tops would be hard plastic, but I'm pleasantly surprised to find that whole black section is actually a soft padded material that looks a lot like leather anyway - I guess it is just faux leather rather than real leather, I'm pleased with the look and feel of it.

Yes, some things about iDrive annoy me, but I've learned to live with them. However I find it an absolute breeze compared to to the Audi system in my wife's TT, now that is a freakin' nightmare.
