Just wanted to say a big thank you to Mike for going above and beyond today to fix my non- starter problem with his expert wizardry!

And also for providing these two beauties... nice little upgrade on the taped up diamond. Cheers Mike! :D

I knew Mike would be able to sort it for you. :) And it looks like he's got a new supply of keys blanks - those look very smart. What does the 4th button (the bottom one in your photo) do?

Yes pretty much. The key was dead, not sending any signal so by putting in a key without transmitting a signal over a period of time caused the immobiliser to cut in and the car to say "No!". Or at least that's what I understand to have happened. The fault code related to the immobiliser anyway.

Hmm I'm not quite sure to be honest. Alarm? I shall investigate.
 
One of my keys is completely dead, so this would be ideal. Whats the cost and what do I need to send to Mike?

£80 supplied, cut and coded to forum members Ben. Net either the car for 30 mins, or the EWS module and a key to copy.

4th button does nothing on EWS based cards like our Zeds.

I was in Cheshire for a few days when Mike did mine, so I just took the car! :)

Depending on whether doing it remotely is practical for you, there is someone else on here that does keys in Cambridge IIRC, or there's BMKeys in E. London (but I'm sure they cost more).

I think Jay had tried to repair the key as it wasn't operating the central locking, and somehow the PCB got damaged. This resulted in it not responding to the immobilisers code request properly, and causing a system lockout for security.

Ideally need the car for 30 mins. You can post the EWS module and a key to copy, but this means the car is off the road.

Nice keys indeed!

I am not sure how the new "shape" key will work...guess you use the new buttons to open/close the doors etc but have to take the "blade" portion out and insert it into the ignition block. Am I on the right track?

by the way, glad you're back on the road OP! :thumbsup:
