Off to Shelsey Walsh next Friday for the Autocar sponsored hill climb day. Really looking forward to having a bash up the hill. Has anyone on here had a go at a hill climb in their Z4?

Only ever driven up them whilst I've been driving to my marshal post.

I've seen too many accidents over the years to even contemplate putting the Z4 on.

That's a little worrying, still it will be safer than my last hobby which was riding racehorses, or the one before that, which was powerboat racing.

Never been myself but the farther in law goes at least once a year with his mate for the classic event. He owns various classic Jags 140's,150's and a D type.

The D Type must be a handful, and very expensive. I've see a very nice Ferrari storm up it and stuff the barrier at the first corner. Big bill for that one I expect.

Just double checked with the father in law it is a C type his mate has

Not really, as it depends whether you're going 11/10ths or 9.999/10ths - there's always a couple that exceed the capability the car, the driver or both.

We even had a Clerk, in his company car (a Smart, sponsored by the AA), who rolled it.

Only seen 1 major incident though, and that split the car in half and ended upside-down against the bank - but that was a single seater. Most of the accidents involving road-going cars tend to remove a wheel, bumper, etc. or ding a panel here & there.

There are a couple of C type replicas on PH, they start at £50,000 ! Did he give you any tips to pass on about how to navigate the hill quickly?
