Shell helix ultra oil

Hello I have a 2.5 03 Z4 and was wondering if anyone had used this oil it's fully synthetic 5w 30 any help appreciated.

I've always used Shell Helix on my Volkswagens, but on my Z4 I only use Millers NanoDrive oil.

I want to change it every year due to the low mileage the girlfriend does in it. The shell stuff at the minute is £32 for 10 ltrs so not bad and it has a good write up but for Audi and vw etc so wanted to check.

I've been using 5W-30 LL-01 for the last 2 changes. I know LL-01 is meant for higher sulphur fuel (US market) but can't see any harm if it's being changed regularly. If anyone knows otherwise, I'll be happy to switch.

What does that mean and why would you avoid it?

Because shell actually do an oil for BMW which is LL01 and this being sold as a ford\jaguar specific type which comes up as the AF. To be honest as stated it will probably be fine but for the difference in price I will stick to the specified oil.

Like Ben g said any ll04 is OK, I just picked up 2x4 litres castrol edge for £50 from euro car parts... GM dexos 2 5w30 is ll04 and be picked up cheap. I suspect that ll01 would be OK but ll04 is cheap enough to not risk it in my opinion :)

Couldn't find Castrol edge for that price on Eurocarparts but if anyone is interested you can get 2x4L Castrol Edge on Amazon for Just under £50 Link Below
