Shed of the week

MR2's...slowly rising in value......for good ones. A MK2 revision 3,4 or 5 under 50k miles in mint or concours condition can command a price into double figures, IF you can find one. Think Z4 aero skirts are rare..? Not in the same league as a mint MR2. Let's say a red, most sought after colour, T bar REV 4 with 45k miles in concours would fetch between £10-12k, possibly a touch more if it was truly outstanding. A REV 5 with 30k miles top flight concours £14-£15k.

Sooooooo here we have a TRD rep, Toyota racing development, plastic kitted bag of snot which is described as very well looked after.....skip full of salt needed on that score but you make your own mind up....check out the blue door shuts and engine bay...it's a bog standard MR2 with a badly fitted kit, I wouldn't like to think the rot hiding underneath this wonder, truly nasty, sills, rear arches will be shot, arches in the boot area rotted through, it'll be very very crumbly. The interior and engine bay leaves tells you all you need to know....and the price for this rotten wonder...? £13k....that's thirteen thousand pounds....

Quite seriously I'd be reluctant to give £500 for it for parts, barely worth breaking.

Very well looked after....

You gotta love these folk haven't you.....

Never really understood the MR2 thing personally. :|

Bet that smells nice with all that condensation on the inside.

Nice

Always a fan of the MR2, owned an 89 MK1 for 4 years and nearly went for the MK2 but skipped to the MK3 and regretted it immediately :(

Looks like that MK2 is only good for parts if that.

Tim.

Great cars! Had 3 MK1s and an MK2.

My wife had a MK2 1990 G LTD when I met her.
It was a cracking little car almost identical to the one Nico posted above with maybe just the tail lights being different.
Only got rid of it as the sills were starting to go and replacements could not be bought. Sills from other cars had to be made to fit.
Im sure it was 18 years old when we traded it and got £2400 for it.

I would have loved to have owned a MK2, lovely looking car and then they replaced it with something butt ugly.

Which went back to the ethos of the MK1 though. Had two roadsters, great cars.

When we were looking to change the MK2 we went to look at a MK3 and never even bothered with a test drive.
The interior just didnt look as good as the older model and the overall shape was disappointing compared to the MK2.
I have no doubt that the MK3 would probably have been a better handling car though.
Dont see many MK3s around nowadays.
