sheared caliper nipple thread size?

link to this site seems to indicate M7 (330ci is same caliper)
http://www.e46zone.com/forum/topic/28853-brake-caliper-bleeder-valve-size/

+ I think M7 x 1.0mm, 32mm long IIRC. 05 Bleeder valve 2 OEM Part No 34116758107.

Why not take the other side nipple out (if you can) and examine thread size as check to be sure.

Won't you have to get an oversized one now unless you can use one of those tools that removes threaded objects.

Ahh those would be "easy outs" the most incorrectly named tool ever invented! ..........Never found them "easy" and never got many things "out"

Z4 3.0 si 07...Are the nipples M7? I attempting to drill out and tap the sheared nippple.

Are you near ox28?

Can you get the old nipple out? Easy outs are badly named! But they can work every now and then

As for the thread you can get different threads on nipples!! If you can send me the damaged part I can send you all you need to fix it

I managed to remove it at work. Drilled it out 4.5 mm forced A torx bit in ( hammer) Heated and just kept trying. Thought I had no chance.
The other front caliper was the same broken off nipple...I used extractor and it bust off in the nipple .
All good now anyway. Didn't need tapping.
Thanks for your offer machine monkey.
I have x2 rear bleed nipples to tackle next. I pretty certain they will just shear off too.
Any method for not shearing the bleed nipple when removing?

Good stuff

I would normally say add heat. But that might not be a great idea on a calliper. Unless it's completely striped. Other than that penetrating spray and go careful!

It's always a lottery..

I always clean them up, gently tap the nipple to shock the thread and gently warm the area where the nipple locates.

If it still snaps off then its new caliper time.. Remanufactured items are cheap enough now.
