Hi I wonder if anyone can help identify the source of this 'clicking' metallic noise. I've had two mechanics in the car, one from a local BMW garage, another from a local indie garage listen and it only appeared with the Indie one. I had the Indie change the two front lower control arm bushes attaching to the bulkhead which I thought was the sound he was hearing, but apparently this cured the bit of back and forth play of the front wheels only. It can present / be heard quickly but it can also take a little while to hear, I thought it was first of all on the left hand side when I went over one of the many dastardly road humps we have in the destroy a car environment I live in. It was also mentioned it could be related to the exhaust manifold moving and needing some tightening up or nuts replacing? I did check the engine braces were all tight too. Grateful for any thoughts / help. I haven't managed to get the car on a ramp yet and not sure I would immediately sees anything either with the bottom trays on place?
