cp5659038844297768056.jpgHi Everyone,

This will be my first Z4. I have had a 1994 BMW 325i Convertible in the past and I have missed having a BMW.

Last Saturday 26th November I was browsing Facebook and saw an add for the new Mazda MX5. It looks very sweet!! but did remind me of a Z4. Just for S..ts and giggles I thought I'd look at some Z4's here in Oz!

I saw a MY2007 Registered 2008 with 31,000 km on the clock. I just had to have it.....So tomorrow I fly to Sydney from Melbourne to pick it up and have my first affair with the Z4 and a 9 hrs drive back home.

I'm actually English :) and just here on holiday for 6 months waiting for the dreary British winter to be over

I've got a 3.0 roadster, but am swapping to a coupe when I get back!

Well we made it back!

1,000km in 9hrs

What a beautiful car. Solid! One thing I really notice was the steering. Very positive. A great smooth ride..

Time for a long sleep and then wash the bugs off in the morning

Well Done that man ! Somebody has stolen your roof and fitted a cloth one
Don't suppose you need one in Oz though (unlike here).

Enjoy your Zed. :D

Sean,

I m in Melbourne so, yes we still do need a roof. Not a fair dinkum one like yours, hence the cloth one...

I have now washed all the bugs off from the 1000km drive and have as you do, seen some things I would like to address. Some of which are the same as Scott 202, so Scotty, if your one to share, I would like some tips, especially how you intend to protect that rag top. I need to do the same. I will have mine garaged as this is the most prizes inanimate object. (Guys, you know why I have had to categorise that!!).

I would also like to retrofit, cruise control as mine doesn't have it. Second, I would like to add coloured bake housings (Red I think), any one have suggestions on where to get them and how to fit them?

I would also like to have Bluetooth capability. There is the little icon on the steering wheel but I tried to pair my iPhone and nothing, I assume it doesn't have the upgrade for this. Is parrot the best? Or are there others that I am not aware of.

One of the reasons I am asking all these questions is that this vehicle was imported from Japan in 2011 and the Manual is in Japanese and I don't speak the lingo.....Anyone know where I can get a Manual for the 2007, 2.5i model? LEt me know if you do and I will be on it.

I know this is a lot to ask at one,but I just want it looking good and operating the way I want as soon as possible.

This Z4 will be well looked after and kept in the garage ALWAYS!!!!! It has now got 32,833 km on the clock and I only intend to do around 5,000 per year.

Hi Shark4,
Welcome to the forum.
There's an identical button in the storage compartment for bluetooth pairing.
My apologies for the picture orientation.
Regards
Andy

Thanks Dashbedrock,

I will look at the car in the morning and see if that works. The symbol of the speaking voice that appears in the manual is on the Steering Wheel, is that the one I press or is there another one?

I am going to have to go to BMW to get a manual for my car because I can't read Japanese. (The original Manual)

Hi there
The one on the steering wheel is for answering calls e.t.c.
The one in the storage compartment is for pairing.

Ahhh Mebourne. If I ever get down under then Melbourne is where I'll be heading.A stunning city I have been told.

Cruise control is definately worth fitting and there are many threads on here about that. With a post facelift you will need to buy the loom as well as the stalk. Keep an eye on Flea-bay , a couple of lads on here have come up lucky.

As it turns out my Zed was not manufactured with Bluetooth, so it looks like an after market unit for me......

Love this car!!!
