Don't some contries measure HP differently I think?.
They do. A lot of european cars are listed in "ps" rather than "bhp" which is more common in the UK. No idea what the US/Canada use though, so mcbeee's could have 255 for all we know :D

HP, as a unit to measure the power produced by an engine through a dynamometer (so through the rear wheels) and is the standard unit of power measurement in America, possibly Canada as well
BHP, has the same units as HP, but is measured by applying a "break" to the flywheel and was/is the standard unit of measure in the UK as well as the use of the German term PS, 1 PS = 0.986 HP

So the difference is that HP is the measurement of an engine’s power at the wheels and so include transmission losses, while BHP does not, thus for the same car/engine the specified BHP value will be higher than those specified as HP

The correct SI derived unit for power is the Watt

You guys are soooo lucky not requiring a front licence plate - the Z4 looks great without one.

Nice cars :)

mcbeee, looks great. Wheels are unusual.

I've heard on this post the term "clubsport" for these wheels. I know between little and nothing about the wheels on older Zeds so feel free to fill me in ....

Notice: I said "older" not old

The Gf wanted a Sportier car like my old Z3 and she liked this one. She doesn't adjust seats, use Nav systems, play with gadgets...she just drives so this is perfect for her. It has a 6 disc changer, I'll have to install an Aux input for my iPod. AAh, good question, "do the 2003 Business head units have an aux input on the back?? I put one in my '05 M3 but lots has changed between 03 and 05..

From my understanding these alloys come from the E46 BMW 330Ci Clubsport Coupe. I don't know much about them really, but the guy I bought mine from said they were popular with the 3-series enthusiasts. Most examples seem to be Estoril blue as in the picture below.

Should be able to buy the cable and plug it straight in

Without wishing to hijack the thread, can you install an Aux cable and the CD changer simultaneously? I'd got the idea that it was either / or, but I'd be delighted to be wrong.

check out the rather long AUX-DIY thread - short answer is YES you can, I have :D

It's 15 pages or more long !!!! Yikes, is it anything to do with stripping out pins and repinning the connector or is it simple plug and play like I had with my M3 ? (As simple as taking the dash apart on an expensive car and all the time wondering when something is going to "snap"... :)

if the car is fitted with factory bluetooth then will have some pins to merge in the connector, if not then plug and play :D

Thread link was mainly intended for sprainedmind.

The car is fairly basic (no bluetooth that I know of , yet) so it's probably plug and play, hooray) Something for me to do in November (Brrrr, cold, too much ice on roads)
