Setting Time/Date - Intravee

I disconnected my battery in my car over the weekend to do a few bits and as expected it lost the time/date and I had to reset the windows for one touch operation. However I seem to be struggling to set the time and date - I have the sat nav setup with Intravee.

On the Intravee setup clock option it seems to be stuck on 01/01/1970, 00:59:59, I have enabled Auto Set and tried using the Update Now option but it just says 'Waiting' and never updates. Has anybody else experienced anything similar or know how to force a time/date update or manually adjust it?

Hopefully I'm just missing something blindingly obvious!

I'll check when I get home from work tonight (I'm on the motorcycle today) but it was downloaded around mid September from the Toys In Your Car site. Not sure if there has been a newer version since then?

Thanks, I am running 6.02-7058 (which is the version currently on the ToysInYourCar site). I'll try updating it over the weekend and see if that sorts things out!

I updated to 6.02-7140, but still stuck in 1970!

Is there a way to manually set date/time? I tried auto set again but it's still stuck on 'waiting' even after a half an hour drive.

just tried mine as i have never set the clock this way. my car clock is set as normal but i dont display the intravee clock.

Went to the setting in intravee my date was in the 1850's !!!, tried auto set and the year changed but not the time, then i selected the button below "Reset" and now time correct.

OK, the 'car clock' is separate to the Intravee clock! This morning I went into the main system menu (not the Intravee menu) and was able to set the time, so that now shows correctly in the display bottom corner and also in the dash.

Going into the time/date settings on the Intravee menu, it is still wrong and hasn't updated, but I guess as long as the main display shows the correct time (from the car clock) I suppose it's not the end of the world!

Reply from Richard who does the software coding:

The Intravee will update the clock from the GPS signal when a valid time signal is detected. The clock should then run until it is updated again, but it will probably gradually drift and either gain or lose a little each day.

If your car is parked underground, or in an area where there is no GPS signal, then it can take some time to obtain a valid time signal.

If you go to the clock setup menu, you should see the status on the right side above the 'back' option. This could be Waiting, waiting for a valid time signal, or Updating, waiting for the whole minute which is the accuracy of the BMW iBus clock setting message

Thanks for that. I am not parked underground, and as far as I am aware there is no problem with GPS signal in my area (Brighton) - although I have never used the car's built in sat nav as I prefer to use my phone.

The clock setup menu is still stuck on 'Waiting' although now I seem to have travelled even further back in time to 1850!
