Set of spilt rims, a good deal??

Sounds reasonable for a set that look like they will need a refurb but if as you say just for the winter months then probably OK. Check on pick up that they are not buckled - stand them face to face against each other as a cursory check - should be no gaps.

Good price for a set of 108's. As Alan says the deal depends on if they are buckled or not.
Make sure the seller agrees that if they prove to be you get a refund. They are prone to it, repairable but extra cost.
I was going to sell my last set but on the machines found 3 were buckled, so let the refurber have them as a 'mates' favour to fix up.

So I should be able to detect the buckling during collection?
I will probably email him this evening stating that the deal is dependant on their being no buckling and no cracking. I'm not sure whether its possible to back out of a deal on EBay, however if in the listing he did not mention these kind of defects then I assume I should have a case?
The "inner" stars look to be in better condition than mine, but the outer rims are in slighly worse condition. At least now I have a set to play with in terms of refurbishment.

To be fair i know some people who sell those expect alot more without tyres.
i think that thats a rought price people should expect to pay for them with no tyres - if you take into account average of 150 a corner for quality tyres.

thats standard ebay listing stuff, fully operational and functions as intended. if you do get them and they are buckled open a case with ebay and they look into it

Those who have seen the 108's on mine will testify to the combination of DIY refurb and professional input on mine.
Speak to Paul the owner.
He can put hem on his machine as see if they are buckled

Cheers, I will look into it and see how much he may charge for a refurb. I am tempted to change the colour also, perhaps to a gun metal gray exterior ring and a darker grey/ black internal star. Should hide the dirt and brake dist a bit more.
I have considred the DIY refurb, but not sure if I can be bothered to put the time in (lazy I know).
