Sessantas and Tyre Patterns

Just found out that Vred are no longer making the Sessanta! Sad times indeed, nicest tred pattern i've seen on a car in a long time, definitely suited the Z4 down to the ground.

Any other nice tyre patterns out there?

How about the Nitto Invo 1...

...or the Nitto NeoGen?

This is going to be a great thread - you don't get more petrolhead than wanting the best looking tread on your tyres... That only another petrolhead will even notice, if they're paying attention :D

Goodyear Eagle F1

Not available for the Z4,

Nitto Sand Grappler

but you've gotta be a bit of a redneck to run a tyre with a name like 'Sand Grappler'

Know I'm going against the Vred evangelists on here, but the Sessanta pattern I always thought had a whiff of the Halfords about it. Stick to premium tyres and they all have a decent pattern of that's what you're after,

I was a bit disappointed when I realised the sessanta tread goes the same way on both sides tbh, eve had an argument with the fitter about it. Still liked it.

Eagle F1s look good though.

Perhaps everyone should just buy their tyres like they buy clothes - fashionable treads rule!

They might be ditchfiders but they look good... 8)

I'm with you on the F1's Bing.

Did like the look of the sessanta, when I had them. Better than the Cr#p I have on the front at the moment. Though to be honest I can't tell the difference, from behind the wheel.

I've had the sessanta's and loved the look of them. Few people said the tyres were on back to front, which became annoying after a while.

Much prefer my nice wide eagle f1 asy 2's i have now. Nice simple pattern that means business.

Just had the same problem.

You can still get them from a small number of places but you have to pay a premium. :(

I ended up getting Michelin Pilot Super Sports for the same price which I am told are a better tyre (but don't look as good!!!) £125 each for Z4M fronts

I''ve got them on my Z and love the look of them. However, if they have stopped making them if I get a nail in one (like I did last year) I guess I will have to buy 2 tyres. Could be an expensive puncture!

Like the look of those Goodyear Eagle F1s. So I presume that a completely different tyre to the F1 asymmetricals?

What are the reviews like for those posted here? Tread patterns important but performance is equally so!

My personal favourite at the moment and an absolutely awesome tyre for summer use, hard to find better than these. Yokohama AD08R....

They're the older generation F1s. They did a directional and asymmetric versions.

The new ones have moved on as much as the Pilot Sport did to the Pilot Sport 2 and now the Pilot SuperSport.

Quote from Mr Wilks. '& Michelin Alpins are quite swish'

+1  I've got them on my winter wheels, they are terrific tyres.

Recently fitted a set of Vred Ultrac Vorti's on my 108's for summer, quite like the tread pattern on these, but not visually in the same league as the Sessantas. Wonder why they have discarded this pattern?
