Servicing Prices For Info

hi herminator there is a local indy in south shields BMW trained its called prestige german cars.He specialises in BMW ,AUDI ,VW. I have just had mine in for the two year brake fluid replacement he charged about £30 quid I think .I asked for a price for inspection 1 service again I think he quoted about £200 all in.I am getting old memorey not that good these days ,did good job on car and i will take it to him for the service when its due .Why dont you give him a ring the number is 01914566623 .He also has a web site its www.prestige-german-cars.co.uk

I'll definetly give them a ring when my next service is due. About 8000 miles according to the car, so about 5 months for me :|

It's an expensive Service 2 aswell....
 
Am i right in thinking that you can service your car at a BMW Specialist (not a main dealer) and still advertise it with 'Full BMW Service History'? I heard this was the case due to competition laws but wasn't totally convinced...
 
That was only for warranty purposes, so as long as the car was maintained to the same standard they could not deny warranty claims. You can not call it a BMW service history as it isn't a BMW service history.
 
I had a bill for 70 pounds plus vat for environmental disposal of oil.

Next time I shall take a couple of drums for them to fill so I can take it to the dump to be environmentally disposed.

£70+ vat JUST for the disposal?

You do start to wonder if a FBMWSH is really actually that important next to a good indie if that is the kinda thing they are making it cost a premium for!
 
I will indeed consider getting / taking my own oil then. The dealer is not far from the tip which has an oil disposal unit.
 
Must make a note to offer stealer my own new oil and to dispose of my old oil after!

I'm the kind of cynic that would think asking for specific treatment would make them more likely to do half a job or abuse the car while it's with them!!
 
They think I am a nutter anyway as I take pictures of the car before I hand it over to them (including milage reading ...). They have a separate note on my account to not wash the car, not touch it - basically use extra care.

Guess they learn after having to respray the boot on my X5, refurb a wheel as the car was in their care, replace the roof on the Z4 after they washed it etc ...

Sounds like a crappy dealer if they get so much wrong... :(
