Servicing - does this look right for a car with 90k miles?

Looking at a Z4. About 90k on the clock.

I don't know much about these. Is this service history acceptably complete? I don't think the Z4 has mileage based service. It's dictated by what he computer says, yes??

To me, they're not often enough in time or mileage!

What do you guys think?

It's "a" service history but certainly not full. There are gaps. Services are based on the computer, mileage and use but should also be done on length of time too. The obvious one is the 20K and 3 year gap between 2011 & 2014.

Saying that servicing isn't everything. If the car is well looked after it could still be good. Mine certainly doesn't have a full service history but I do them myself and have receipts of the fluids etc that I've bought.

Hi there

You haven't said which model it is or which services have been done (oil, inspection 1, inspection2) but either way there are gaps which are too long between services for any Z4's service schedule.

Mileage doesn't seem too extended as the later face lifted cars, 06 onwards with the SI engines could have 20k miles or more between services without effecting warranty.

If the car you are looking at is an M/// then run a mile.

Cheers guys.
The car is cheap, so I might just buy it - but wanted some opinions on service.

As you say - buy on condition. I will have a look and go with my gut.

I think it is all a balancing act - servicing seems to fit mileage, but AFAIK they shouldn't go more than 2 years between services regardless of mileage so the 2011 to 2014 gap would be a concern.

Plus I would want to see what the services it has had involved in terms of Insp 1/2, brake fluid change, etc.

How does the car look, and if buying privately you can get a feel for how it has been treated from meeting the owner!

At the end of the day if the price looks right for what it is, why not?

The MOT certificates in Northern Ireland show the mileage on the car.
Not sure of the mainland system.
I bought a 2005 Z4 in Cheshire and brought it back to Belfast.
I have all the MOT certificates showing the mileage each year from its 1st MOT.
Most of the garages that service vehicles also record the mileage on the invoice.
BMW customer service can also give you details if you supply them the registration.
