Just a quick heads-up if anybody is thinking of ordering from Tyreleader.co.uk, not recommended

I priced up a staggered set of Gooodyear Eagle F1A 2 XL for my 108's, with fitted prices ranging from Kwikfit £634 to local indi £556 down through Blackcircle and Opeoneo to Tyreleader at a very reasonable £480 delivered to a local tyre fitters and fitted.... But their tracking system does not work, customer service is by email only and they just keep repeating the same crap.

The local fitter is fine but told me they get a LOT of complaints from customers who ordered through this outfit including 2 week delays, no communications and taking orders on tyres that are on back order without telling you - which is probably what's happened to mine. Luckily I'm in no rush but it's unnecessary grief :(

I ordered my eagle f1's from them and received them within 2 days. The tracking system also worked perfectly.

How odd.

Likewise - excellent prices and shipped through DPD with tracking info.

Strange then, four days all I get from customer support is the same tracking number, no telephone support and this

Update, Tyreleader did finally respond with an estimated delivery date and the tyres arrived and were fitted although the courier tracking never worked. The tyre fitters at Kwik MOT (not to be confused with KwikFit ;-)) Winterstoke Rd Weston-Super-Mare were as good as gold and charged just £8.50 per tyre fully balanced and fitted.

So in conclusion Tyreleader.co.uk were very well priced and all turned out OK in the end but just don't expect to know when it's turning up or get a swift response to enquiries. :|

I ordered through Tyreleader as well and their service/delivery was excellent (almost too much information to be honest: "the tyres have left the Factory in Germany", "the tyres are in transit in Germany", "the tryres are on the boat now", "the tyres are having a short sleep ready for their big day tomorrow" etc) as they were certainly the best price by some margin.

I accept that not every experience will be the same but mine was fine/better than fine.

Glad to see you got it sorted in the end.

Hi all

Just a warning about Tyreleader to those looks to buy from them. Beware of their cancellation costs / fees!

Ordered some tyres but cancelled them via their online ticketing system shortly after ordering as realised I had made a mistake in ordering them. I received no response from their online ticketing system despite it being within their so called office hours then 24 hours later get notification the tyres had shipped so followed their terms and conditions and refused delivery from the courier for the tyres I did not want. This company is now trying to charge me £25 per tyre as a fee for returning something which I cancelled and did not accept delivery for which is actually about 75% of the cost I paid including delivery originally for 4 tyres which is NOT stated anywhere on their web site or in their terms and conditions.

As a result of all this I have now paid £100 and have no tyres! :headbang:

To be fair, any company will charge a cancellation fee if you refuse delivery when it's on your door step.

You just need to be 100% sure you're buying the correct item before paying for it.

Perhaps the fee is high, but it isn't their fault you made the mistake. I have heard they are quite difficult to contact though.

It would've probably been cheaper for you to accept the delivery and sell them on to someone else.

Yes I understand about having to cover costs their end and I actually offered them to take a 25% charge for sending 4 tyres to me in the UK and back to them even though I cancelled before they were despatched which I thought was pretty damn fair of me! However this cancellation / return fee is not stated on their web site (effectively 75%!) as if it was I and I'm sure many others would never have ordered from them in the first place :(
Also if their online customer service guy had told me the cancellation fee when he finally responded (they have no phone number) I would have reluctantly just taken the delivery and resold them to cut my losses but seeing as this didn't happen I have to say I'm fuming

Drafting a dispute letter to my credit card company now buy buyer beware when using such cheap companies using a .co.uk web site, based in Germany taking payments via France and effectively not allowing cancellation of orders without charging a 75% fee!

Talking out of my hat now, but aren't you covered by distance selling regulations allowing you a cancellation period? It seems you gave them instant notice of cancellation and they were either unreasonably slow responding or decided to deliver regardless (I know which seems more likely). Secondly even if you end up being liable for the 'cancellation fee' it has to be reasonable, you can get 4 tyres delivered for £30 each way so £100 is excessive.

I'de write setting out your objection (In my experience phone is impossible) and see what the response is, your recourse is small claims which I've used and is easy if you have your facts right

Cheers Ewazix, I will see what happens with the credit card company but I thought it was important to highlight this hidden 'return fee' which the amount, whether it's per order/ per tyre is in my case and which has never been broken down to me so that anyone is also looking at the headline grabbing cheap prices can buy fully informed.

Also I'm not sure the small claims court would be any good as they seem to be based in Germany, charged my credit card in from France and trade via a .co.uk web site :o

No prob, credit card co sounds like the way forward but if not small claims jurisdiction is now EU wide, same fee.

Tyer Leader is a nightmare, unless you're an expert in fitting tires and can do it yourself, go somewhere else. Tyer Leader and the fitter that was recommend don’t consider balancing of wheels to be part of their business and responsibility.

Wheels that are not balanced or are out of balance produce a vibration that is uncomfortable to drive in and results in premature wearing of suspension and steering components, rotating parts and tyres. I never experienced such a bad service in my life.

+1

In fact I have bought from them twice recently and service / delivery / tracking has been spot on.

Hi,

I know it's been a while since this happened but guess what? It's 2020 and the exact same thing happened.
I ordered 4 new tyres, realised a mistake with the order, cancelled in less than 2 hours after order but the tyres still shipped one day later.
No action taken by customer service to cancel the order in between despite writing to them a few times.

To put insult to injury, I chose a local tyre fitter advertised on their website that was listed to fit tyres for £13 but when I called them up, it was £20+VAT per tyre. Imagine my shock!

These guys are nothing but deceitful cowboys. I'm contemplating to refuse deliver based on the fact that a cancelled order was still shipped and then the pricing for fitting tyres were misleading on their website.

How did your dispute with the CC company go?

Thanks.

Funny, tyreleader are still my go to company for tyres - but only for delivery of tyres, i get them fitted separately. I'm also certain to double and triple check my order before committing.

Ordered some hankooks back in january at a great price, delivered very quickly. So personally, i'm very happy to recommend them, and will continue using them!

I must have had 40-50 tyres off Tyreleader in past 5-6 years & can't fault their online tracking or delivery times,.
Always check against like for like elsewhere & consistently find them the most cost effective option once I have my own fitter mount the tyres.

Kind of sounds like their ordering and delivery service is very good, but maybe they are let down a little by their customer service if the customer makes a change.
Lesson would be simply to be doubly certain you have everything right before you hit the button.
