Service light reminder, then red triangle with !

My 2015 Z4 that my uncle GIFTED me, has 17k miles on it....I had my mechanic look it over, do oil, etc, at 15k. The service light came on at turn of 17k, and now when i start it, a red triangle with an ! inside it has me scared! It goes off in 10 sec. Is it a reminder for servicing or should i not drive it?? Car is MINT!!

Hi I am new to BMWs and i was gifted a MINT 2015 35is with 17,700 miles on her right now. I had my mechanic look her over at 14,500miles, change oil, etc. When it turned 17k, a service reminder came up. Now a red triangle with a ! is coming up upon starting. It goes off in 10 sec. Is this serious, or just a reminder to service?? I am not getting any other warnings via computer, etc...
I am scared!!

just a reminder that something needs to be done.... could be a annual check, could be brakes - the condition based servicing is clever but a bit annoying. Look at the servicing menu in iDrive (or through the stalk).

After i wash and wax her, I'll be posting this gorgeous beauty's photo. She's very photogenic...
